OUR MISSION
A childhood rooted in nature & filled with wonder.
Copper Learning Academy is bringing curiosity, movement, and meaning back to early education. Our nature-based K–5 program celebrates the joy of discovery, the power of play, and the beauty of learning outdoors.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Support the Roots of Tomorrow’s Learners

A school that fits your family
Because learning shouldn’t look the same for every child.
At Copper Learning Academy, we know every family’s journey is unique. That’s why our nature-based approach is designed to work with your rhythm, not against it. Whether you’re a homeschooling parent, balancing work and family life, or simply looking for a more flexible option, we offer:
Flexible Drop-Off & Pick-Up Times — so your days flow naturally, without the rush.
Field Trips Twice a Month — homeschooling families can join when it fits their schedule and interests.
Vacations & Time Off — just let us know when you’ll be gone and we’ll plan your child’s curriculum around your schedule.
Here, education isn’t one-size-fits-all — it’s a partnership rooted in understanding, freedom, and shared growth.
A school for the curious, the movers,
the dreamers, and the doers.
Is Copper Learning Academy Right for Your Family?
Every child learns differently — and that’s something we celebrate.
Use this quick checklist to see if our approach to education feels right for your family.
- Your child comes alive outdoors — building, climbing, collecting, or exploring.
- You believe learning should spark curiosity, not just meet a standard.
- You value flexibility — with drop-off, pick-up, and at-home learning options that fit your family’s rhythm.
- You want your child surrounded by teachers who nurture both the heart and the mind.
- You see the importance of bilingual learning and global curiosity.
- You believe in testing ideas, not just taking tests.
- You want your child to grow confident, compassionate, and capable — not just academically successful.
- You’re ready to join a community that sees education as a shared adventure.
If you’re nodding “yes” — your child just might thrive here.
Education: an Experience for the Entire Family
Family Time is Important. We will not be sending regular work home with your child. Time spent with family is very important and we want to help expand that.
Your Child Has a Voice. Your child knows what they like. They gravitate toward certain subjects or stories. They are an individual with ideas to share with the world. Our homeschool style curriculum will be structured in a way that allows individual students to be part of the process.
Parent Teacher Connection. The use of the Playground app will allow you to always have direct communication with your child’s teacher. Your child’s teacher will be able to send photos, update grades, share stories about your child’s day, or discuss any issues that may arise.
Immersion Field Trips. Learning is so much more than sitting in the traditional classroom. Deeply engaged learning can happen anywhere, especially when children are given the chance to create firsthand experiences.
What are Parents Saying?
Don’t take our word for it – here’s what parents have to say!
“My children’s creativity explodes when they embrace the unknown. After years of homeschooling, it is evident that they thrive with personalized and diversified education. The ability to freely move while learning has been shown to lead to greater information retention; being a part of a school environment that embraces my children’s natural curiosity and desire to explore and learn, all while expanding their perceived boundaries and limits, is exactly what we are looking for.”
Kaitlyn L.
“My child’s education is extremely important to me and an outdoor school provides certain opportunities that are lacking at other schools. Smaller class sizes allow teachers to meet the children where they are at academically and provide flexibility in terms of teaching style. There is more opportunity for students to pursue what truly interests them and fuel their passion for learning.”
Brittany J.
“All kids should be given the opportunity to think outside of the box. Life doesn’t have to always be measured by one standardized test. Kids can learn so much through nature and that’s why my children will be the first ones signed up!”
Molly B.
A Special Thank You
This school would not be happening without the support several wonderful people. I want to say a special thank you to each of you. Your support means the world to me and to the future Copper Learning Academy families.
