Homeschool style experience will be held from Monday through Friday.
WHAT DOES TUITION INCLUDE?
Professional Teaching Staff. Educators that are dedicated to creating an environment for students to be thriving individuals, and who nurture curiosity in each student.
Lunch and Snacks Five Days a Week. Meals will typically be bento box or bistro style. This is because our goal is to be outside as much as possible, including pausing for food. You are welcome to join for lunch anytime!
Two Field Trips per Month. This includes transportation to the location, as well as entry fees and any supplies needed the day.
General Classroom Supplies. Items such as tissues, work books, crafting supplies, pens, pencils, books, etc.
Easy Parent to School Communication App. We will be using the Brightwheel app, which will enable you to receive photos, progress reports, message individual teachers and staff, and submit your tuition payments.
Community Partnerships. We will be working with organizations land non profits to connect our students to amazing local resources. For example, the Briggs District Library will be coming directly to our classrooms bi-weekly to bring books and additional programing to our students.

Philosophy
Whole Child Development
Create and maintain a learning environment that nurtures the development of the whole child. This includes forms of open play, teacher-led learning, child-led learning, and self-directed exploration.
personalized and flexible
Focus on competency-based learning, with the goal of stepping away from seat- time in favor of flexibility that allows the student to demonstrate mastery of academic content, regardless of time, place, or pace of learning.
Experiential learning
Emphasize experiential learning in the classroom and through field trips around Michigan. Showcasing that learning extends well beyond the traditional classroom.
time spent outside matters
Immerse children outside in nature where they can run, climb, and test themselves and their ideals. We will spend hundreds of hours outside each calendar year.
The school your child is excited to go to!
Second language
Prioritize learning a second language. Knowing more than one language fosters an understanding of different cultures in a way that nothing else can. It allows a person to communicate easier with more people, improves memory skills, and enhances the understanding of their first language.
Storytelling skills
Inspire learning and communication through storytelling. Connecting ideas through story is an artful way of presenting factual and fictional concepts, and the ability to meaningfully communicate with others is important in all areas of life.
Immersed in community
Utilize educational resources wisely, including working with amazing programs such as 4-H, Impression 5 Science Center, Briggs Public Library, nature centers, local robotics teams, boater’s safety classes, and other programs or organizations as identified.
Strong ties with parents
Create open lines of communication between parents and staff. Building a strong partnership will enhance the child’s care and education. Parents and teachers working together will teach children teamwork as we set good examples.
Curriculum
Our curriculum focuses on learning traditional subjects, while also being flexible for students’ abilities or interests, as well as parent expertise.
Teaching Style
Students will get to experience teacher-led, student-led, parent-led, and other styles of learning. Portions of their day will be Montessori in feel, and other portions will be structured. While our focus will be on time spent spent unplugged, we live in a technological world, which will not be neglected.
Subject Matter
Students will learn traditional subjects such as English, Reading, Mathematics, Social Students, and Science. We will also be teaching Spanish, prioritize outdoor learning, and ensure that parents are truly heard when proposing additional ideas.
Development
The curriculum and environment are being developed from global research into childhood education and time spent outside. Professional educators with a unique worldview will guide students as they make all subject learning fun.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Monthly field trips are included in tuition. Students will visit the library firsthand and learn math while at a state park. Students will also have the opportunity to present passion projects in all subjects throughout the semesters.
